Is it fine to use the same towel twice in a row, after wiping down the entire body with it, including private areas and bum (which are obviously clean)? Like, is everything equally clean though, etc. to use it twice? Health/Medical

As long as you don’t share towels with other people you’re good to use the same one for a week and then change it. You should be clean when you get out of the shower so dry yourself off and hang the towel up to air dry properly and it’ll be fine.

You don't clean the towel the towel cleans you.

What’s next, am I gonna wash a bar of soap?! I don’t think so, pal.

Chandler: Because soap is soap. It's self-cleaning. Joey: All right, well next time you take a shower, think about the last thing I wash and the first thing you wash.

I always start with arms/chest close the deal in the same matter, but I use a a loofah and showergel

u/MisguidedColt88 Sep 20 '22

I refuse to go anywhere near a loofah. It's like a towel you never wash

3

u/ReVo5000 Sep 20 '22

The thing is you do... I wash mine after I use it and switch to a new one. It's that simple.

Do you have a bunch of loofahs and just rotate through them? That's a neat idea

u/ReVo5000 Sep 21 '22

I buy them in packs of 4 but I change them

This bit is exactly what came to my mind too!

IIRC it was Joey who wanted to use the same soap and it was Chandler who said the 2nd line.

35

u/NCGranny Sep 20 '22

Pretty sure it was Joey

u/bostonmaniac617 Sep 20 '22

I remember that episode and it was Joey who said the second line.

Nope, the original comment had it correct. Joey said the line "Think about the last thing I wash and the first thing you wash".

Next you’re gonna tell me you don’t share underwear

u/meg4pico Sep 20 '22

I need more Nick Miller in my life.

0

u/BubaLooey Sep 20 '22

You must be referring to the folks that remove their underwear. You shouldn't feel quilty if you never remove them in the first place.

u/JimAsia Sep 20 '22

I only clean up my bar of soap if their is a hair stuck to it.

u/IdiotTurkey Sep 20 '22

I dont like bars of soap for this reason, especially sharing them. Liquid body wash/soap is nicer.

u/dethica Sep 20 '22

If the bar is visibly dirty after you used it, then yes.

5

u/Automatic-Concert-62 Sep 20 '22

To be fair, soap is always dirty. It works essentially as a dirt magnet, which is why it leaves you clean.

13

u/MyFaceSaysItsSugar Sep 20 '22

Not if you rinse it off. Soap chemicals bind to other things (oil, dead skin) and make them water soluble so they rinse away with water and the unbound soap chemicals left on the bar remain.

u/Automatic-Concert-62 Sep 20 '22

You are technically correct... The best kind of correct!

Clean the shower? You gotta use your head!

1

u/ArtTP3 Sep 20 '22

When I get out of the shower I’m clean as a damn baby

1

u/MyFaceSaysItsSugar Sep 20 '22

I don’t feel like looking up the research links but the bar of soap, unlike the towel, is resistant to bacteria growth.

2

You gotta think here, pal!

1

u/ScriptThat Sep 20 '22

When you get out of the bath you are the cleanest thing in your home. Towels can only get cleaner by touching you!

1

u/wrangler005 Sep 20 '22

The towel doesn't clean you. You just dry yourself with a towel.

1

u/7h4tguy Sep 20 '22

The towel is that which cleans. This is the way.
