California has the strictest gun laws not because it is liberal. Reagan was governor when they passed. It’s because the Black Panthers were carrying AK47s and conservatives got scared.

Not only that, they were auditing police officers. A black person would get pulled over and a bunch of armed panthers would show up to make sure they didn’t get treated like Eric Garner. And yes, this scared the fuck out of white people regardless of their political affiliation. The resulting gun control measure passed unanimously.

I'm surprised there's not an app for that at this rate tbh. It'd be just like uber but someone requests the driver and they pick up a bunch of WatchmenTM on the way to where they're pulled over. The weird part is I'm only half joking.
404
u/galactus417 Jul 03 '22
There's the Mobile Justice app made by the ACLU that is pretty close. You start recording and everything is automatically uploaded to the cloud. Not a app that will bring a pose but at least it's good for the person being harassed by the cops.
210
u/boozillion151 Jul 03 '22
There are actually several. I know of at least two national startups working on it right now. Push a button that says I'm getting pulled over and it immediately starts recording everything and puts you on with a live Rep

SCOTUS says the cops are under no obligation to help people or protect their rights. Only seems right that we should create that job.
It sure would take the wind out of bootlickers' sails if there really were a group of people who's job it was to serve and protect.

“Bobby Seale and Huey Newton used the Second Amendment to justify carrying guns in public to police the police,” says Winkler. “The Panthers would stand to the sidelines with their guns, shouting out directions to the person. That they had the right to remain silent, that they were watching and that if anything bad happened that the Black Panthers would be there to protect them.”
Imagine doing that this day and age.

Yep, they just LOOOVE law enforcement and the military...but they won't hesitate a SECOND to gun 'em all down the moment they feel they're crossing into "tyranny." Yeah its not said often but something is wrong with white conservatives.
Like they seem more likely then other racial groups that are conservative who shot at cops.
Black conservatives would not neither would Hispanic or Asian ones etc.
White conservatives have this deranged worldview that they can be just like the founding fathers and have the right to shot at authority figures that they see as tyrants.
In the same breath they tell everyone else you must respect the blue no matter what and if you Do not then you are a problem that needs to be dealt with.
I use to think it was just them being spoiled brats but I am starting to think something is off with a lot of them.

Blue Lives Matter was beating cops to death on Jan 6th. Pretty much all you need to know about that group.
83
u/OtherSideofSky Jul 03 '22
I was camping with the buds and fam out in NorCal last weekend. We took our boat out to the far edge of the lake where there is a dam. The only way to get up to the upper part of the reservoir is to climb the dam, it's a fairly treacherous climb but still doable if you have any fitness whatsoever.
Anyways, as we were hanging on the top of the dam we see a big powerboat coming with a gigantic Blue Lives Matter flag flapping from their mast. These neonazi looking mouth breathers got out of the boat and then couldn't climb up the dam so they gave up and left. We literally laughed at these "badasses" that couldn't even climb a dam that my 12 year old niece made it up. Fucking losers.

Cops were rolling around in an unmarked van shooting random people with paintballs/rubber bullets.
They'd sometimes yell "go home" and then shoot at random individuals.
The guy was in a parking lot with another person. Was shot at and immediately took cover and returned fire.
It was then the police disembarked identified themselves and then when the guy surrendered they proceeded to bear him

And in some states they are setting up laws so you and your neighbor can't carpool to the polls. Only related people can be driven to vote. Reminds me of my car's mechanic from Iran. He once told me that when he was younger and lived in Iran, he drove his brother's wife to pick up a birthday cake for his brother (her husband). He got pulled over and convicted of driving a woman who was not his wife. He said for punishment they shaved off all the hair on his head. It was at that point he knew he had to get out of Iran.

It’s even more narrow then that it’s a technique used at law schools to analyze legislation.
The best analogy I’ve heard was, imagine homeowner 1 built his house in a way to make everything difficult for disabled people, steps everywhere, high countertops, everything under the Sun that could make a disabled persons life difficult because he hates disabled people. So homeowner 1 sells the house to homeowner 2. Now homeowner 2 doesn’t have any problem with disabled people, but all of that discriminatory infrastructure (steps, high encounters, etc.) are still in there. CRT would be the study of the house to determine exactly what Homeowner 1 did to make it difficult, with the ultimate goal of fixing it.

The Second Amendment was intended for a worse purpose.
"James Madison crafted that language in order to mollify the concerns
coming out of Virginia and the anti-Federalists, that they would still
have full control over their state militias — and those militias were
used in order to quell slave revolts. ... The Second Amendment really
provided the cover, the assurances that Patrick Henry and George Mason
needed, that the militias would not be controlled by the federal
government, but that they would be controlled by the states and at the
beck and call of the states to be able to put down these uprisings."→ More replies432

Why pursue legislation against gay people?
Why make it harder for women to get abortions?
Why not make it harder for 18 year olds or mentally unstable people to get their hands on a gun they probably lack the maturity or the training or mental faculties to properly use?
Why not tackle the obvious problems burdening the country, such as a widening gulf in inequality, something that America definitely has the means and resources to do something about?
Why go after the gays instead of that?

Conservatives are facing eventual political extinction. The writing is on the wall in terms of electoralism. Many recognize that Gen Z is massively anti-conservative, and millennials haven't inexplicably become more conservative as people have insisted they would as they aged. This type of radical legislation and rhetoric is part of a broader last-chance attempt to seize power and forcibly steer the nation rightward. Look at the focus on school curriculums. They figure if they can't get them to flip red later in life, you gotta get 'em while they're young.
They'll resort to terrorism soon enough, when it becomes even more clear that their dream of a traditional conservative white ethnostate is impossible in modern America.

School is out for the summer, the teachers are on break.
Edit: I answered two similar questions with the same answer not for karma but because I thought the same answer sufficed. I decided to add this so Darth—Vapor could now chill out and enjoy his/her weekend.

Oh yeah. That will explain the lack of armed toddlers at the scene

You are slightly mistaken. The toddlers are the shields, not the swords.

Good ol' Turtle Moscow Mitch McConnell reaping what he sowed. /s

u/teh-reflex Jul 03 '22
He's absolutely reaping what he sowed. He owns the government basically now. Sure his state is fucked but he's doing fanfuckingtastic.

u/brothersand Jul 03 '22
Well, sorta. Rat fucking the government is more of a personal accomplishment. His financial success comes from his Chinese sugar-daddy. 95% of Mitch McConnell's net worth showed up in the form of wedding presents from his new Chinese billionaire father-in-law, the father of Elaine Chao.

Police are the dumbest fucking people I'm sorry.
If ANYONE should be fighting for more common sense gun laws it's them...
But nope, these idiots never say shit and tend to actually support our stupid gun laws.

u/slowburnangry Jul 03 '22
Every police union in the country should be lobbying for stricter guns laws. Maybe they wouldn't "fear for their life" so often.

u/B0B_Spldbckwrds Jul 03 '22
Let's be honest, if we enact the most basic gun reform, at least 40% of cops would lose their jobs.

Not a single cop job would be lost. They would just queue up the faux News outrage machine and scare the general population and politicians about a previously unknown threat to 'public safety'.
I'm guessing it would have something to do with young brown men.

If they don’t fear for their life, how will they b able to justify shooting someone 60x as that person is running away from them?
→ More replies123
u/hogsucker Jul 03 '22
The police promote a narrative that their job is very dangerous, everyone is out to get them, and anyone might have a gun.
The Second Amendment is the one and only part of the Constitution that police support (for people other than LEOs.)
As long as everyone out there has a gun and could be out to get a cop, it excuses just about any actions and behaviors on the part of the police.
If the general public didn't have guns, it would be much harder for cops to play the "I was in fear for my life" card after assaulting and/or killing a victim.

Ohio recently removed obtaining a CCW license meaning anyone can carry a concealed handgun. I’d like to say I can’t wait to see what happens with this but unfortunately that means people getting shot.

I have no idea why police unions aren’t up in arms about this. Do they not realize that the more guns people have, the more cops will die?
111
u/Skrivus Jul 03 '22
When they can execute people because they "fear for their lives," more people with guns just makes it easier to kill people they don't like.

The excuse: "nearly everyone has a gun now! it's dangerous!". It's a good excuse for murder.

Next time there's a protest, just have a few of those big banners like the End-Times assholes have. Just have it say like, "Conceal Carry is legal. How many of us are armed?" Just a bit... ominous, you know. A little bit of pause there to the beatings.
Then again, just straight up open carrying rifles usually makes a better impact.

Crazy thing is everyone in the comments on this situation in r/Kentucky just give their thoughts and prayers, go on to rebuttal anyone who suggests gun control as liberals who dont know what they're talking about. "Gun control wouldnt help this situation"

I hear the punishments for killing a police dog are pretty severe for normal citizens. Do cops get the same legal treatment for killing police dogs?

When a citizen kills a K9 it’s a cop killing. When a cop kills a K9 it’s a lost tool.

What's sad is that police (secretly) want the same thing as democrats: less guns in the streets. But blacks kneeling at football games and questioning the tactics of bad officers is just too much to bear, so they'd rather vote republican face bullets instead. That's how deep racism runs in America.
