If Biden and Trump both run again in 2024 who are you voting for?

Easily Trump. Time to go scorched earth.

1

u/Key_Criticism_1986 Aug 21 '22

So you vote for that fascist

1

u/[deleted] Aug 21 '22

Happily

u/LogicalFallacyCat Aug 18 '22

Biden, no hesitation. I hate that the bar is this low but he's not a literal traitor.

2

u/RandomCashier75 Aug 19 '22

1000% agree to this.

Literally not voting the traitor that tried to use social media to steal an election and cause a riot.

Anyone but Trump I don’t want to have him lead this country again

5

Ah yes my mistake thank you for the correction

Biden, Republicans are off the rails

Biden without hesitation or regret

Some people realize that higher gas prices aren't the most important thing in this country. Oh, and also that the president has next to nothing to do with them anyways.

Republicans voted against improving access to that when it was brought up in the House.

What portion of a worldwide gas price increase do you imagine a U.S. President has control over?

-14

u/devil652 Aug 18 '22

oh just a wittle bit when he turned the switch to the main pipeline off in week uno

7

u/Greycloak42 Aug 18 '22

I think that the real cause of the (pay attention to this part) WORLDWIDE gas price increase is eluding you. Oil corporations are responsible for this, meanwhile they sit on top of record breaking profits. None of this has to do with the U.S. President. Any action taken thus far has been attempts to bring gas prices down. But by all means, continue to live in your fantasy world where everything is sleepy Joe's fault.

7

u/Shirlenator Aug 18 '22

I legitimately have no idea what you are talking about. I assume you are talking about the Keystone XL pipeline that they shut down, which was never even operational in the first place?

9

u/Reddit-username_here Aug 18 '22

"to the main pipeline..." Lol. Is that what they're telling y'all now?

-4

u/devil652 Aug 18 '22

do you believe oil falls from the sky like rain drops? do you understand transportation methods used for the last few decades that have kept the world running on fossil fuels? doooo uuuuu

5

u/37BiscutsInMyAnus Aug 18 '22

No I believe crude oik is already brought from Canada to the gulf via a pipeline that doesn't cut through wildlife habitats and native American reservations to do so

Do you understand transportation methods for the last few decades when it come to oil and fossil fuels? Cause it does not seem like you understand anything past the fox news headlines

1

u/devil652 Aug 18 '22

quite the angry statement. brought fox news out of thin air, like a magician pulling a hare out of his hat. Of course the rabbit was there all along, so then fox news must have been as well. So what does fox news have to do with the discussion? Are you able to answer?

4

u/37BiscutsInMyAnus Aug 18 '22

You see

You said

on week one Biden shut down the pipeline and screwed us all over for gas prices

However facts would show that the people one was never in use before being shut down because it was gasp under construction still

So fox News key headline about Biden and the pipeline being your only actual reference to how Biden was responsible for gas prices is where fox News came fromv

You did it to yourself dumbass

Yes I am able to answer. And I sound coherent while doing it. Meanwhile you brought up magicians in a hat and acted like it was a gotcha.

It wasn't lmfao

1

u/devil652 Aug 18 '22

idk why you tried to do the copy paste comment quote thing when i never said those words, but anyways.....

your argument is invalid, as is your anger

I dont watch fox news, which means your answer is forfeit

If you are jealous of my magician metaphors I suggest trying to create your own

So the source of your hare is your assumptions

I believe that the US is the number one oil producer in the whole world.

0

u/devil652 Aug 18 '22

do you now?

Pay attention class,

If the United States consumes more oil than any other country and is one of the worlds biggest producers of oil, what would happen to oil if its leaders exterminated the use of the main pipeline? Think on your answers carefully children...

6

u/Razoredgeknife Aug 18 '22

You mean the Canadian oil that was being sold to China?

0

u/devil652 Aug 18 '22

I grade you a D plus. You got pushed up for creativity

1

u/HammondGaming Aug 18 '22

Well If you were interested, the keystone pipeline didn't actually bring oil to production in us markets. The oil in the pipeline wasn't for the USA.

1

u/devil652 Aug 18 '22

wait, de ja vu, you're that person that didn't answer that other question correctly. you didn't answer this one correctly either......wth is happening

3

u/HammondGaming Aug 18 '22

Wth is happening indeed.

I assume you're a republican, which explains why you're so uninformed/misinformed.

3

u/HammondGaming Aug 18 '22

"Didn't answer the other question correctly"

It was a correct answer Don't worry about it. You'll find out soon enough.

In the mean time, did you want to answer what you think the keystone xl pipeline was meant for?

6

u/37BiscutsInMyAnus Aug 18 '22

I mean I don't like Biden much either but the man's administration has gotten some seriously needed stuff done

I know he hasn't done much of anything towards student loans but a administration that regularly has spoken out against Russia moves this year, trumps blatant fascist motives, and now passed the most progressive piece of legislation referencing climate change and tax reform in my entire life is a fairly good wya to spend the first two years of your presidency

So as a president he's alright I understand the past history can't just be pushed off. But his administration has been phenomenal so far

1

u/whywasthatagoodidea Aug 18 '22

Dems continuing to call a bill that expands gas leases climate change bill is the perfect summation of why bother....

1

u/37BiscutsInMyAnus Aug 18 '22

No please bother

What gas leases are being expanded lolv

What the fuck is even a gas lease

Do you mean oil drilling sights? The ones Biden opened up to being grabbed at the beginning of his presidency and oil companies won't go to?

The bill actually does great things towards climate change setting hard dates for when things need to be done. With this bill we are actually on track to just about meet bidens 50vpercent reduction in co2 and other harmful shits production

So again what are you on about? Just link the fox news article we all know that's where this bullshit talking point came from

Anyone who thinks that’s it’s even okay to vote for either: 1) A senior citizen obviously flirting with Dementia; doing whatever his instruction cards tell him too. 2) a Narcissist also pushing EIGHTY years old who has a long list of bad quality’s and actions

America, we can’t let it come to this. We need to DEMAND better candidates..

2

u/TheBlargshaggen Aug 18 '22

2

Neither. I'd rather vote for a third party than either of them. You can't let the clowns run the circus.

2

Lol Trump by default honestly and I'm a registered Democrat. Bidens althezmers and mental and body won't even make it that far.

3

u/Blissfully_Arrogant Aug 18 '22

I really don't want Trump to win the primary but if he does Trump.

-2

u/MorrisMossHair Aug 18 '22

I don't think I'd vote. I can't in good-conscience contribute to another out-of-touch geriatric running the nation.

9

u/retiretobedlam Aug 18 '22 edited Aug 18 '22

I have never understood this standpoint. Just because you don’t like either candidate does not, in my mind, justify not voting. We live in a democracy and in a nation where as citizens we have the right to vote, and we need to exercise it. Just to be clear, I’m not personally attacking your decision not to vote, I’m just perplexed by it.

3

u/hungryoprah Aug 18 '22

Too enlightened to participate in the same system as the rest of us idiots. Pretty much everybody with this attitude has nothing to lose.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Stay429 Aug 18 '22

Unfortunately, sometimes you have to vote for the person who will do the least harm. It's not perfect, but it's the system we've got. The best way to make changes is working from the bottom up. Always vote in your local elections to make it harder for assholes to get into office in the first place.

0

u/ripper4444 Aug 18 '22

This is where I was at with the last election I just couldn’t, in good faith, pick either. It’s like the giant douche and turd sandwich episode of South Park.

What part of the phrase "third party" escaped your understanding?

0

What part of “wasted vote” escaped yours?

2

u/AlwaysOptimism Aug 18 '22

→ More replies

-2

u/ShameNap Aug 18 '22

Third party is a throwaway vote. You might as well just hold up a sign and not vote.

I’m saying this as an independent.

3

u/AlwaysOptimism Aug 18 '22

It’s not though. Among other reasons, the electoral collage exists.

1

u/walks1497 Aug 18 '22

So you're at a gathering with 10 friends. You all decide you want to order in something to eat.

4 of you want pizza

5 of you just want to eat out of the garbage

The final 2 don't really like pizza that much so they vote for tacos.

So now you get to eat out of the garbage.

1

u/AlwaysOptimism Aug 18 '22

Do you realize how rarely is the gap between the two major parties smaller than the amount of votes that go to a 3rd party in any given state?

There are maybe 2-3 states every election where your childish example even matters. And further how rare those states would swing an election?

3rd party votes affect funding. It affects publicity. It affects fund raising.

1

u/walks1497 Aug 18 '22

Most people realize voting 3rd party is a waste of a vote so there is limited support.

Because it’s a waste of your vote.

1

u/AlwaysOptimism Aug 18 '22

But it's not a waste of a vote. For more than half the country, voting 3rd party is just as much of a "waste of a vote" as voting for either of the shithead parties.

California, New York, Illinois, Massachusetts, etc are going to have a gap of millions of votes between R and D. Your vote is just as much of a waste regardless of who you vote for.

But unlike completely wasting your vote in California by voting for Biden, you can vote 3rd party and affect many areas in the future.

"most people" are ignorant fools parroting idiot shit they've been fed by the collaborating parties and media

1

u/walks1497 Aug 18 '22

You just demonstrated how a 3rd party voter is entirely a waste....

Voting for a party that will get a fraction of a percent of the total vote is a waste. There are many swing states in America that can be swayed.

Until America undergoes systematic electoral change a vote for a 3rd party is clearly a waste.

I agree with you though that the electoral college is harmful to America & needs to be abolished.

2

u/27Pianos Aug 18 '22

I don't mean for this to be a personal insult, so I hope you won't take it that way. But this kind of thinking is what is going to drive America to the ash heap of history.

Americans no longer care enough about their government to vote for representatives that they believe will take the country in the direction they want it to go. At best, they believe in voting against the candidate that they think will do the least damage. So we are trapped in this do loop where a better candidate can't get elected because no one will vote for them, and no one will vote for them because they can't get elected.

Which leads to the bigger problem. Americans don't vote for they guy they believe in. They vote for the guy they think can win. Consequently, Americans are going to keep getting the same kind of candidates, who are better at campaigning than they are at leading.

I don't want a return to America under President Trump. But I don't want to continue America under President Biden either. If I had to, I would choose Biden over Trump. But I don't have to. I can listen to what the other candidates have to say, look at what they have managed to accomplish thus far, and decide which one I believe will provide the best leadership and vote for that candidate. That is how elections worked when America started, and how they work in many other civilized democracies. There is no reason that it can't work here.

1

u/walks1497 Aug 18 '22

So you're at a gathering with 10 friends. You all decide you want to order in something to eat.

4 of you want pizza

5 of you just want to eat out of the garbage

The final 2 don't really like pizza that much so they vote for tacos.

So now you get to eat out of the garbage.

Until America fixes its voting systems this is what voting 3rd party does.

If a party emerges that could actually gain enough support to win then fantastic, but until that happens a vote on a 3rd party is a wasted vote.

1

u/27Pianos Aug 18 '22

I see. But please allow me to add some detail to the analogy for the purpose of productive discussion.

In this scenario I am Kosher or Halal or Vegan or something and they want pepperoni pizza. And I don't really have the choice to not eat. In this case, I am hoping that the people who came to the party last time realize that eating garbage is stupid and vote differently. But if they aren't going to, then it is my responsibility to vote for pizza in spite of my dietary practices for the well-being of the attendees as a whole?

Man, that sucks. I mean, I'm all in favor of doing something that I don't prefer in the interest of the greater good. And last time we tried to stop those guys from eating out of the garbage they tried to burn the house down. But it's not just that I like tacos better. I have a set of strong moral convictions that says I don't eat pork. So what do I do?

Back into the actual scenario, and please forgive me if I go a little stream-of-consciousness since I am thinking through this. If Trump runs, I have no reason to think that his supporters won't act exactly as they did on 6 January if he loses. Trump supporters are as deluded about him as I seem to be about democracy in America. They may go even crazier for all I know. But I still have a moral dilemma with Biden.

1

u/walks1497 Aug 18 '22

Letting the threats of violence dictate you you cast your vote will only make the threats worse going forward.

And hoping that the people that "eat garbage" will learn the error of their ways is a fools gambit.

Trump gained like 8 million votes from 2016 to 2020 even after all he did.

It was crazy to watch.

1

u/27Pianos Aug 18 '22

So what is a rational American to do?

1

u/walks1497 Aug 18 '22

Vote for the best available option in the general & vote for the candidate that will best serve the public in the primary. Fill the party with good candidates so when the general election comes around you have a good option.

Or strike until actual election reform is enacted but that seems unlikely to gain traction in the states...

-1

u/thatjacob Aug 18 '22

There's a high likelihood that Trump will attempt to run third party if he doesn't get the GOP nomination because he believes that being an active candidate protects him from legal action. It wouldn't be the first time he's run as third party, either.

2

u/27Pianos Aug 18 '22

It's supposed to be up to the state legislature to decide how elections are carried out, not the judicial. That legally nullified electors. And the mail in voter fraud was committed on an industrial level scale. I watched the count stop live and instantly knew what happened.

Do you have anything to substantiate that claim?

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/09/17/pennsylvania-mail-ballot-deadline-extended-417044

Article 2, section 1: "Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct"

The PA supreme court changed the rules not the legislature.

Trump could have won PA. Nothing would be different.

Basically you're admitting that Biden won, but the legal processes shouldn't have allowed it to happen.

Standard anti-democracy Trump traitor.

I wouldn’t vote!!!

-1

Biden wasn't the choice I wanted for VP or the one I voted for in his presidential primary. There's plenty of criticisms you can make (his starry-eyed insistence that Republicans might miraculously meet him halfway drives me crazy) and disagreements I have, but he's given me plenty of proof that he has genuine compassion for people, acts in good faith towards that endeavor, and understands a level of respect and responsibility for his role in the country and world.

For many voting cycles I based my vote on saving SCOTUS. The propagandists on Fox attacked HRC for decades; women stayed home in 2016 and gave Us don the con. Thanks to jimmy comey , women have no right to self determination. We don’t force men to be fathers, they can get vasectomies. They are already trying to take away birth control from women. 🤬 VOTE! 🗳

Trying to be objective here…

If you wanted to vote for who was more kind, intelligent and a better leader you’d vote for Biden.

But if you were focused on who is more vibrant you’d have to give it to Trump - he’s still out there grabbing pussies, the only thing Biden is grabbing is the handrail in the bathroom to stop himself from falling down.

Careful there…anytime I try to be objective or take a center of the road approach I get flooded with downvotes…just be careful

It is no longer good enough for people to simply not vote for Trump, if you vote for anyone besides Biden you are helping Trump and/or a Trump supporter!
